We think data protection is an integral part of customer-oriented quality. Protecting your personal data and safeguarding your personal rights are important to us. We process and use personal data collected when visiting our website in accordance with the currently applicable data protection regulations. Our website may contain links to websites from other providers, which this data protection statement does not cover.

Collection and processing of personal data

When you visit our website, our web server automatically stores technical access data like the IP address of your internet service provider, the host name of the system used to access our website, information about the browser and operating system used, the website you were on which directed you to our website, the pages on our website that you visit, and the date and time of your visit. This data cannot be assigned to a specific person using the information available to us, however. We use this technical access information only to improve the appeal and user-friendliness of our website and to detect any technical problems early. The use of your IP address is also technically necessary in order for you to view our website. Except for this technical access data, it is possible to explore virtually our entire website without providing any personal data. In accordance with the principles of data avoidance and data minimisation, we only collect, store and use personal data when it is required for your desired purpose or when you have voluntarily provided us with it. We use your personal data to process your orders, respond to your queries, provide you with access to special information and offers or provide you with special services (send you our newsletters etc.) Furthermore, we only collect, process or use such personal data when it is required for the purposes of compelling legitimate interests pursued by the Geis Group or its affiliated companies (see above) and these interests are not overridden by your own legitimate interests in the exclusion of the processing of your data.

Passing on of personal data

We only pass on the personal data you provide without your explicit consent to the extent necessary for fulfilling your order, and only to the subsidiaries and business partners involved in this process. We will not pass on your data to uninvolved third parties and we will especially not sell your data to commercial users for marketing purposes.

Reset Cookie Settings

We use cookies in some areas of our website in order to track visitors’ preferences and set up the webpages in an optimal way. Cookies are not viruses and therefore do not pose a risk to your computer. Rather, cookies are very small text files that are stored on your PC. These cookies are used by our server to recognise your computer and make navigating and using our website easier for you. You can configure the settings of your browser so that cookies are generally accepted or stored, or so that you are prompted to decide on individual cookies on a case-by-case basis. You can find our more about this using your browser’s help function, among other things.

Web analysis with Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service offered by Google Inc. (‘Google’). The lawful basis for the use of this service is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Google Analytics uses ‘cookies’, which are text files that are stored on your computer to allow an analysis of your use of the website. The information generated by the cookie on your use of the website, such as:

  • browser type/version,
  • operating system used,
  • referrer URL (the page you were visiting which directed you to our website),
  • host name of the computer accessing the website (IP address) and
  • time of server query,

is generally transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there.

We use Google Analytics on this website with the extension code ‘anonymizeIP’. This code ensures that your IP address is masked, so that all of the data is collected anonymously. Only in exceptional cases is your full IP address transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. Google uses this information on behalf of the website operator to evaluate your use of the website, compile website activity reports and provide further services associated with the use of both the website in particular and the internet in general to the website operator. The IP address transmitted from your browser as part of Google Analytics is not compiled with other Google data. You can prevent the collection of data generated by the cookies and related to your use of the website (including your IP address) and the processing of this data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plugin provided at the following link Alternatively to the browser add-on, especially with browsers on mobile devices, you can prevent analysis by Google Analytics by clicking this link.

This sets an opt-out cookies that prevents the future collection of your data when visiting this website. The opt-out cookie is only effective in this browser and only for our website. It is stored on your device. If you delete the cookies in this browser, you must reset the opt-out cookie.

We also use Google Analytics to analyse data from double-click cookies and AdWords for statistical purposes. If you do not want this, you can disable it in the Ads Settings at

Further information on data protection in connection with Google Analytics can be found, for example, in the Google Analytics help section:

Social plugins on Geis Group pages

The Geis Group and its affiliated companies (see above) are represented on different social media platforms with selected digital presences. In integrating these presences on our webpages, we sometimes use ‘social plugins’. Social plugins establish a direct connection via your browser to the servers of the social networks in question and transmit data to the operators even when the page is loaded. To make the connection to external providers safe as well as convenient, we have switched off this plugin function on pages of the Geis Group and its affiliated companies (see above) by default. Only when the user clicks the plugin and thereby activates it is a connection to the services of the social media platform established. With a second click, the user then has the option to show their friends on the network that they like what the Geis Group and its affiliated companies (see above) have to offer.

You can find the data protection guidelines for the relevant social media platform here:

Plugins for the social network Facebook, provided by Facebook Inc., 1 Hacker Way, Menlo Park, California 94025, USA, are integrated on our website. The Facebook plugins can be identified by the Facebook logo or the ‘like’ button on our website. You can find an overview of the Facebook plugins here:

If you visit our website, a direct connection is established between your browser and the Facebook server via the plugin. Facebook is then informed via your IP address that you have visited our website. If you click the Facebook ‘like’ button while you are logged into your Facebook account, the content of our website can be linked to your Facebook profile. As a result, Facebook can link information about your visit to our site to your user account.

For the information service offered here we use the technical platform and services of Facebook Ireland Ltd., 4 Grand Canal Square, Grand Canal Harbour, Dublin 2, Ireland. Please note that you use this Facebook page and its functions at your own risk. This is especially true for the use of interactive functions (e.g. commenting, sharing, rating). When you visit our Facebook page, Facebook collects your IP address, as well as other information available in the form of cookies on your PC. This information is used to provide us as the operator of the Facebook page statistical information about the use of our Facebook page.

More information on this is provided by Facebook at the following link: The data collected about you in this context is processed by Facebook Ltd. and may be transmitted to countries outside of the European Union. What information Facebook receives and how this information is used is described by Facebook in general terms in its data policy. This policy also includes information on how to contact Facebook and on settings options for ads. The data policy is available at the following link:

When accessing a Facebook page, the IP address shared by your device is transmitted to Facebook. According to Facebook, this IP address is anonymised (in the case of ‘German’ IP addresses) and deleted after 90 days. Facebook also stores information about the devices of its users (e.g. as part of the ‘login notification’ function); Facebook may therefore be able to assign IP addresses to individual users. If you as a user are currently logged in to Facebook, your device has a cookie with your Facebook ID. This cookie enables Facebook to track that you have accessed this page and how you used it. This also applies to all other Facebook pages. Using Facebook buttons integrated on websites, Facebook is able to record your visits to these websites and assign them to your Facebook profile. This data can be used to offer content or advertising that is tailored for you. If you wish to avoid this, you should log out of Facebook or disable the ‘stay logged in’ function, delete the cookies existing on your device, and then close and restart your browser. This way Facebook information that can be used to directly identify you is deleted. You can then use our Facebook page without your Facebook ID being disclosed. If you access interactive functions of the page (‘like’, comment, share, messages, etc.), a Facebook login screen appears. Once you have logged in, you can once again be identified as a specific user by Facebook. Information on how to manage or delete your existing data can be found on the following Facebook support pages:

We collect and process the following data via the Geis Facebook page:

  • Page activities
  • Page access
  • Likes
  • Post reach
  • Recommendations
  • Post interactions
  • Page followers

We do so for the purposes of statistical analysis of posts and followers, with the aim of optimising the content on the page for specific target groups.

If you do not want Facebook to be able to assign your visit to our page to your Facebook user account, please log out of your Facebook user account. If you do log out, you will no longer be able to interact on posts on our page.

We also use Instagram plug-ins from Instagram LLC, 1601 Willow Rd, Menlo Park CA 94025, USA.

We can display images and videos with embedded Instagram features. By calling up pages that use such functions, data (IP address, browser data, date, time, cookies) are transmitted to Instagram, stored and evaluated. If you have an Instagram account and you're signed in, it will be associated with your personal account and the data stored in it.

If you visit our Instagram page directly, we collect and process data on our contributions and, occasionally, on our subscribers for statistical purposes and with the aim of optimizing our offerings for specific target groups. Which data we receive from Instagram depends, among other things, on the privacy settings of the users. The privacy policy of Instagram can be found at

We use also features of LinkedIn, LinkedIn Corporation, 2029 Stierlin Court, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.

By calling up pages that use such functions, data (IP address, browser data, date and time, cookies) are transmitted to LinkedIn, stored and evaluated.

If you have a LinkedIn account and are logged in, this information will be associated with your personal account and the data stored in it.

Through the Geis LinkedIn page, we collect and process data on our contributions and occasionally also on subscribers for statistical purposes and with the aim of optimizing our offerings for specific target groups. The data we get from LinkedIn depends, among other things, on the privacy settings of the users.

You can find the privacy policy of LinkedIn at

The ‘XING share button’ is used on this website, which establishes a connection to our Xing company page. When you access this website, a short-term connection is established between your browser and the servers of XING SE (‘XING’), which provide the ‘XING share button’ functions (specifically the calculation and display of the counter). XING does not store any of your personal data on your visit to this website. Specifically, XING does not store any IP addresses. Your use of this website is not analysed using cookies associated with the ‘XING share button’. You can find current data protection information on the ‘XING share button’ and additional information at All information about XING’s data protection statement can be found at this link:

Our website uses plugins for YouTube, which is run by Google. The page operator is YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA. When you visit one of our pages which features a YouTube plugin, a connection is established with YouTube servers. The YouTube server is then notified of which of our pages you have visited.

If you are logged into your YouTube account, YouTube is able to directly assign your internet surfing behaviour to your personal profile. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account.

Further information on how YouTube handles user data can be found in YouTube’s privacy guidelines at:

Please also note YouTube’s terms of service:

In case that you have given us your consent to inform you via email about our own products and services, your personal data will be processed in accordance with Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR. By subscribing to our newsletter, you agree that we monitor your clicking and opening behaviour in order to create an optimal newsletter-experience for you. In the case that we process your personal data based on your previous consent, you can withdraw your consent at any time without this affecting the legality of any previous processing. When the consent is revoked, we will stop processing your data.

If you no longer wish to receive our newsletters, you can unsubscribe at any time via the unsubscribe-link that you will find at the end of every newsletter. Your personal data that was used for the newsletter reception will be deleted by us within 3 months after unsubscribing, provided that the deletion does not contradict with any legal storage obligations.

For the purpose of customer surveys, online surveys are regularly carried out using the Lamapoll web service to create and carry out surveys. All connections from and to Lamapoll's systems are encrypted according to the latest technology. The servers on which the data is stored are protected by firewalls and virus scanners. The tool is also regularly checked by security checks and penetration tests, for example by the Federal Office for Information Security.

As a customer of Lamapoll, we are authorized at any time to change, correct or delete the data stored, uploaded and collected by Lamapoll. The Geis Group remains the responsible body for any personal data in accordance with the data protection laws.

When you open a survey, information is automatically recorded in server log files:

  • time of access (date & time)
  • web browser
  • operating system
  • called survey
  • if applicable, the website from which you accessed the survey
  • IP address

These data cannot be linked to your person. The collection of this data is technically necessary in order to correctly deliver surveys you have requested and for the operation, maintenance, protection and monitoring of the proper functioning of the system. In the event of misuse, these logs are used to create reproduction scenarios and, if necessary, evidence to be provided by Lamapoll. In the event of an error, these protocols are used to enable the system to be updated as quickly as possible.

When a survey is answered, general statistical information is collected by Lamapoll:

  • date, start and end time, duration of answering
  • used web browser and operating system
  • language of answering

This is exclusively data that usually does not allow any conclusions about your person. In the case of anonymous surveys, this data is in no way linked to your answers. In the case of non-anonymous surveys, the data is linked to your answers and made available to us for evaluation purposes. Usually ee use anonymous surveys. In the case of non-anonymous surveys, the survey participants are informed of this before the survey begins. By participating in the survey, you agree to the storage and evaluation of your anonymous or non-anonymous data. Non-participation will not result in any disadvantage.

All data collected, in particular your answers, are transmitted to Lamapoll via a secure SSL-encoded connection and stored on the German servers. They are made available to Geis via the tool in graphical and tabular form. They are stored at Lamapoll until Geis has evaluated the answers. If the purpose no longer applies, the answers, the survey or the account at Lamapoll are deleted. A link between your person and your answers is only possible if Geis explicitly makes settings in the survey for this purpose. This is usually not the case.

Our surveys are hosted at Lamapoll. When accessing these surveys, your IP address is transferred to Lamapoll, but is not linked to your answers. If multiple participation based on the IP address is to be prevented, the IP address is stored as a cryptographic hash together with the survey ID by Lamapoll and used for comparison purposes in order to exclude participants with the same IP address.

After conversion into a cryptographic hash, the IP address is no longer readable or decodable and is not linked to your answers. If the survey is terminated or deleted, your encrypted IP address is also deleted at Lamapoll.

When sending the survey, participants can be invited via the tool itself. For this purpose, we will store the survey's e-mail addresses and optionally the corresponding names in the survey's address book. The e-mail addresses are required to send you an invitation e-mail. Names are used to address you personally in this invitation e-mail. In anonymous surveys, this data is never linked to your submitted answers. Non-anonymous surveys are automatically linked. Invitation links or details in the address book can be further personalized with attributes. If we use this option, it is only to personalize the questionnaire and the invitation e-mail or to segment and analyze the results. The assigned attributes are then automatically assigned to your responses.

The surveys use cookies, which are required to enable you to answer or interrupt and continue surveys, to prevent multiple participation if necessary and to display multilingual surveys in the correct language. They are stored in your browser until you delete them. You can deactivate the use of cookies at any time via the settings of your browser. Please note, however, that participation in Lamapoll surveys will no longer work if you have deactivated the use of cookies.

Any use of your personal data will only take place for the purposes mentioned and to the extent necessary to achieve these purposes. It will not be passed on to third parties. Personal data will only be transferred to state institutions and authorities within the framework of mandatory national legal provisions or if the transfer is necessary for legal or criminal prosecution in the event of attacks on the Lamapoll network infrastructure. There is no transfer to other ticks.

The security of your data

The data provided by you is protected by us using suitable technical and organisational measures. in order to safeguard it against random or intentional manipulation, loss, destruction or access by unauthorised persons. Our security measures are continuously reviewed and improved based on technological progress and organisational possibilities.

SSL encryption

This website uses SSL encryption for security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential information, such as the queries you send to us as the page operator. You can tell that a connection is encrypted by looking at the address line of your browser and noting that ‘http://’ has changed to ‘https://’ and seeing the lock icon in the browser line.

If SSL encryption is activated, the data you send us cannot be viewed by third parties.

Information, modification and deletion of your data

You have the right to ask at any time in writing whether we are storing any of your personal data and what personal data we hold for you. We will then send you the corresponding information. Please direct your query to our Data Protection Officer (see below). You can also contact our Data Protection Officer if you wish to correct, delete or block your data.
