I’m studying business management at an university of applied sciences. During my six-month work experience placement, I was an intern in the central HR management department at Geis.
I had a varied range of responsibilities and activities. Most of all, I worked on applicant management. My other main tasks included helping with organisational matters and the administration associated with professional development and training.
I was involved in day-to-day business as well as several projects. On top of that, I helped to attract candidates.
I especially liked the fact that people gave me a great deal of responsibility as an intern at Geis.
When you start the industrial placement, you should bring strong organisational skills and the ability to communicate well.
I thought it was great that I could take part in networking events and school job fairs with Geis. This allowed me to gain confidence as a public speaker and to build on my presentation skills.
I gained a fascinating insight into a growing medium-sized company – and I’m very pleased to be continuing my work at Geis as a student trainee.
