After finishing high school, I started a commercial apprenticeship at Geis in shipping and logistics services. I’ve now been working in the pallet department and accounts for nine months. I’m due to change departments soon.
In addition to preparing and checking pallet accounts, one of our most important tasks is to book euro pallets and pallet cages. I therefore spend a lot of time on the phone to freight forwarders and customers.
My work also includes processing invoices from other companies and drawing up invoices for euro pallets.
I enjoy my job a lot because the work is very varied.
In conversations with freight forwarders and customers, we are asked to find solutions. They might ask when and where pallets owed will be balanced out, for example. And we always succeed.
Geis supports apprentices so that we can complete our training after three years. What I find very helpful here:
