Head of customer service and shipping IT support

Immediately after completing my apprenticeship in shipping and logistics services at Geis, I was able to start work as an administrator in incoming goods, working with consolidated cargo. Here I served as a contact for local delivery drivers and partner carriers.

I’ve been responsible for shipping IT support since September 2009. It was easy to learn the ropes in this role thanks to internal and external training. My core tasks include project management and process optimisation as well as staff induction and training.

In an additional role, I also became manager of the customer service department of our Bad Neustadt branch in April 2014.

Geis offers good opportunities for professional growth and fosters the development of employees with potential and commitment.

Challenges and opportunities

Managing employees and taking responsibility for the team is a particular demanding task. The consolidation and restructuring of the customer service department is also a major challenge.

As a result of innovations and optimisation efforts, I am constantly presented with unique and attractive projects. This really keeps me on my toes.

Geis has provided me with first-rate opportunities – especially after I gained an additional certificate in business management and qualified as a trainer.

Team and work environment

Working at Geis is varied, challenging and stimulating. I particularly enjoy the cooperation:
